We have had two great stays at this hotel and we are really looking forward to going back again this May, very friendly pleasant staff, really clean, lovely food, nice spacious rooms. We’ve only had a mountain view room which has been very good. No problem with dogs barking (yes you hear the odd one now and again but not continuously). The food is excellent plenty of choice and the desserts are sooo delicious, staff very courteous and friendly always ready to help.

Yes it’s at the top of a hill but there are taxis just outside if you need them also a bus service out on the main road that runs regularly. We like walking so we don’t mind the walk back up, we just take our time so it’s not too exhausting.

The à la carte meal is worth a try, very nice and waiter service in a nice part of the hotel.

Swimming pool and area lovely, plenty of beds and pool bar. We prefer the roof top area with double padded loungers also 3 cabanas which give you good shade if you don’t like lying in full sun also a good size jacuzzi and plenty of sun loungers, there are wonderful views of Madeira from up there, in the evening it’s beautiful, there’s a bar up there with entertainment most nights. Also a room down stairs with some entertainment on as well.

Madeira is such a beautiful island very easy going and relaxing if you want loud music and karaoke everywhere this is not the place for you. We just love it.
